Absent Students Discussed By RSCD Officials

At the November meeting of the Richfield Springs Board of Education, student attendance was a topic of discussion.


Superintendent Tom Piatti talked about concerns with poor student attendance for October.


He also complimented CJ Scheffler and Stan Grose on a successful DOT inspection, said he is proud of the opportunities the district provides for community involvement and congratulated the students and staff for a great first quarter marking period.


Teacher Shaundra Davis and Dylan Burditt gave a presentation on the Trout in the Classroom project.


Elementary Principal Dr. Rene Wilson thanked everyone for a successful Veterans Day celebration.


Secondary Principal Matt St. Peter gave a presentation that included Halloween festivities, Sweethearts and Heroes, Motivational Media assembly, State Police K-9 Unit preventative search, a Veterans Day celebration, and winter sports.


He talked about attendance interventions and plans to celebrate a great marking period.


District Treasurer Jodie Rodriquez reported on grant approvals and NYSERDA’s Clean Green Schools Initiative.


She said the cafeteria equipment has been installed and tax collection is complete.
