As basketball playoffs started last week, the excitement came in waves. Clinton girls earned a home game and won the program’s first sectional game in 10 years, 44-41 over Homer. They and Coach Elaine Hogan celebrated as the Warriors advanced to the second round, where the season ended in a loss to Mexico. Waterville girls headed to Jordan-Elbridge and knocked out the No. 3 seed. Players Natalee Collins, Adrienne Neff, Hanley Poyer and Valorie Ford share their joy in the 42-40 win, moving them on to the second round this week. Stories, Pages 7, 8, 12
