New members will be taking seats on three local Boards of Education, while one district needs to keeping working for a 2024-25 budget.
Brookfield Central School District voters turned down the proposed budget last week 70-68. Superintendent Ron Pavlus said last week he and the Board are examining what the next steps will be.
It is possible to put the budget up for a revote either as the original or revised; the revote day is June 18.
If it is turned down again or there is no second vote, BCS would operate for next year under a contingency budget.
Voters did change the look of the Board of Education.
Julie Wratten defeated longtime Board member Jeff Beehm 79- 58.
In Waterville Central School, voters approved the budget 266-93.
The proposition to buy buses passed 265-96.
Katelyn Worwa will join the Board of Education after tallying the highest number of votes with 292.
Ken Boone won another term on the Board with 193 votes; Board member Linda Kelly finished third for the two seats with 178 votes.
Budgets for Waterville Public and Clark Memorial libraries were approved.
Clinton Central School’s budget passed 387-57 and the budget for Kirkland Town Library was approved 378-67.
Orlando Guitian will join the Board, getting 332 votes, and Melinda Leising was re-elected with 364 votes.
Two seats were on the ballot.
In Madison Central School District the budget passed 88- 30.
Board members Jona Snyder with 94 votes and Laura Billings with 74 were re- elected.
