Work on the creek near Stewart’s in Waterville last week provided ample opportunity for people to see how flooding will be prevented. A large crane in the Stewart’s parking lot lifted several boulders up and over the trees and placed them in the creek. Work to shore up the creek banks and direct the water in a different way as it flows down the creek on Route 315 into Marshall is expected to reduce the effects of flooding on nearby properties. The state and county made this work a priority project this year.
