Stone Presbyterian Church was pleased once again to have some Hamilton College student volunteers from HAVOC come and help spiffy up the church.
HAVOC is the Hamilton Association for Volunteering, Outreach and Charity.
Students volunteer at various locations in the community to build relationships and positively impact surroundings.
Stone Church has participated in this for over 20 years.
This year four students came to help. They were from Arkansas, Kentucky, Connecticut and New Jersey.
They cleaned in the sanctuary, choir loft, downstairs kitchen and
dining room.
Several church members work alongside them as well as a couple of younger members, Allie and Abby Miller.
Helping were Donna Goodfriend, Helen Leonard, Mary Chamberlain, Emily Hughes, and Pastor Scott Leonard.
Later the group had lunch to learn more about each other.
All the students are seniors at Hamilton College.
David Levine is a neuroscience major and research assistant and has been accepted by NYU for their dentistry program.
Emily Younkin is an environmental science major.
Emily Van Ecko is a pre-med and studio art student.
Helen Xin is a neuroscience pre-med student.
