Mount Markham senior Jenna Kocienda scored her 1,000th point during the girls basketball game Wednesday at Herkimer.
With about a minute till halftime, she hit two free throws; the game stopped for a celebration.
The game featured two players who have scored at least 1,000 points.
Kocienda (23) goes up for the tipoff vs. Herkimer’s Madison Marusic, who reached the milestone earlier this season.The season ended for the Mustangs in their next game in the Section Three Class B playoffs vs. Syracuse Academy of Science.
The boys varsity team beat General Brown to move on in Class B with a game this week at Phoenix with a spot in the semifinals up for grabs.
