A lightning strike during a cluster of storms last week started a fire in the old mill in Clark Mills. Fire departments from Clark Mills, Clinton, Westmoreland, Whitesboro, Oriskany, Oneida County, COCVAC, Amcare, Kunkle, Deansboro, Stanwix Heights, Vernon, Vernon Center, Clayville, Stittville and Yorkville responded and spent several hours putting the fire out and checking for hot spots.
