Millers Mills Ice Harvest Tradition

While the ice harvest in Millers Mills happened a few weeks ago we had to wait until we had plenty of room to run as many of the great photos taken as possible.

The tradition dating back to the 1800s brought out dozens of people.

Some watched and some participated in cutting ice blocks out and helping them get to the ice house through horse-drawn sleigh.

The Grange and church sold refreshments to warm people up.

The ice will be used for the ice cream social this summer.
