This is the start of Saturday’s ninth Daniel Barden Mudfest at MKJ Farm in Deansboro. Participants will take on the challenge of the hilly, and muddy, 5K course to raise money for local charities and to send local ninth graders to an Adirondack canoe and camp adventure. Each of the students - locally and from Connecticut - will choose a charity to receive a donation. Scholarship applications to participate are on the Mudfest website, www.bardenmudfest.org. People who still need to sign up can do so until Thursday and then Saturday morning at the course. Volunteers are also needed. People can also show up to enjoy the food trucks, bands and cheer on those getting muddy.
