Prize Speaking Turns 150



Ten Waterville Junior- Senior High students conquered their nerves and continued a tradition that began the first year the school district formed.


The 150th annual Prize Speaking contest had students perform in one of three categories: Writing and Performing their original pieces, Dramatic Monologues and Comedy and Stand-up.


In the original writing category, Gage Bridge opened the evening with a story he wrote about saying goodbye to his old dog. He took third place.


Laeley Perez performed her piece about someone important in her life, to take first place.


SummerRoss’sessaysabout parents earned her second place.
