Round Top Bar A Family Enterprise

On July 15 the Round Top Bar and Grill opened its doors to its first customers on Lake Street in Richfield Springs.

The Round Top is owned by lifelong Richfield Springs residents Ellie and David Gravelding. “After many months of hard work and preparation, we are happy to be starting business today,” Ellie Gravelding said.

In addition to interior construction, many hours of preparation went into creating menus and setting up decor.

This was not the first time the Graveldings held an opening for a new eatery. The couple has experience in the restaurant business as the former owners of the Village Inn during the 1980s.

The Round Top Bar and Grill offers a menu with a variety of food and drinks and has indoor bar and table seating, with plans on expanding. “We have an upstairs balcony that will be used to reserve space for meetings and parties and we are also looking forward to having outdoor seating and holding events outside,” said.

David E. Gravelding, Round Top’s manager and chef, and son of Ellie and David.

David E. had been wanting to open a new restaurant within the village for many years. When he saw the building on Lake Street went up for sale, he knew that it was an opportunity he and his parents would want to take.

The Round Top had a successful opening day with Richfield Springs locals stopping by to try out the new establishment. “We had many members of the community come and be our first customers and we appreciated the local support,” said David E.
