At the second meeting in January of the Richfield Springs Board of Education, students gave presentations.
Treye Miller, Maggie Worobey, James Wright and Maura Buck gave formal presentations that included their academic and social development, self-identity, work ethic, community service and career plan. Board members and administration expressed their appreciation to the students for their presentations.
Transportation Supervisor Stan Grose, Technology Coordinator John-Henry Lane, and Library Media Specialist Kathryn Prada presented their proposed budgets for the 2023-24 school year.
Superintendent Tom Piatti thanked everyone for their budget reports.
He talked about the mascot and combination committees and cost tracking. Piatti said the mascot and school emblem will be discussed as separate matters with input from both the Richfield and Owen D. Young districts.
Elementary Principal Dr. Rene Wilson talked about computer based testing. She thanked the Technology Department for their assistance.
Wilson reported on the recent lockdown drill. She provided the board with a community survey draft for their review.
A brief conversation ensued regarding online platforms for adequate survey completion and community access.
Secondary Principal Matt St. Peter talked about computer based testing. He has begun work on the master schedule for the next school year.
