Solar Project Explained in Town of Litchfield

The Town of Litchfield June board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Jim Entwistle.


The board entered an executive session at 7:33 p.m. to consult with their lawyer. The executive session was completed at 7:44 p.m. at which time the regular meeting was convened.


A representative from the Cedar Lake Cemetery Association asked about the progress on an issue with unregistered vehicles at a property next to the cemetery. Codes Enforcement Officer Ray Donley advised a letter was sent to the homeowner and they have 30 days to act. Donley will follow up.


Donley advised he issued three permits for two pole barns and a pool.


Herkimer County Legislator Ray Donley advised Herkimer County has 556 miles of roads. Donley serves on the Highway Committee.


Councilman Terry Jones advised a ditch on County Road 79 (Cedarville Road) is full. Donley will notify the county.


Councilman Jonathan Knauth attended the Herkimer County Shared Services meeting. Discussion at the meeting included consolidation of village governments into the towns and sharing services regarding roadwork.


Summer mowing is an issue due to Herkimer County being very short staffed. It was reported the Town of Manheim is doing the county…
