Mount Markham senior Nicholas Thomas won the Zone 4 competition of the American Legion’s Department of New York High School Oratorical Scholarship Program, “A Constitutional Speech Contest,” in Homer this month.
The Zone level of competition was the third level of completion; the State level of competition will take place in March at the Plaza-Desmond Hotel in Albany.
Thomas’ participation has been sponsored by American Legion Post 616 of Richfield Springs.
