Waterville Central School District will begin the process of selecting its next superintendent.


At the end of last week’s WCS Board of Education meeting, Dr. Jennifer Spring announced she plans to retire in June. Spring had led the District since January 2021.


Spring has worked in education for more than 30 years as a teacher, principal and superintendent.


Prior to her arrival at Waterville in 2021, she served as the Superintendent of the Cohoes City School District for five- and-a-half years.


Spring began her career as an English as a second language teacher in the Utica City School District.


She also served as a principal in the Utica City School District for six years and as the Principal of New Hartford Senior High School for 10 years.


Spring thanked the Board and District residents for the opportunity, while also saying she was excited for the year ahead.
