Town Hires Dog Officer

The September meeting of the Plainfield Town Board was at the Town Hall.


Supervisor Todd Lewis opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.


Lewis gave the Highway Department report. The grader sustained a blown tire working on a shale road to State Land.


Repairs have to be made.


Lewis went over the Balance sheets, Monthly budget vs. Actual and monthly disbursements received from Town bookkeeper.


After review a motion to accept the reports was made.


Town Clerk Jon Cockett presented the report for August.


Total revenue of $28 from the sale of dog licenses was disbursed as Town share of $22 and NYS Ag and Markets share of $6.


The Highway abstract of $5,448.87 and General Abstract of $8,513 were approved.


Upgrades to the Town’s website will be pursued. Mark Stillwell will check with contacts he has.


Crystal Ferguson was appointed Town medical officer.


A services agreement letter from Susquehanna SPCA was read.


A new fee of $1,000 will be required to enforce the agreement.


A line to be labeled Dog Control will be added to the Town budget to cover the cost ...
