Village Budget Approved

The 2024-25 Village of Waterville budget was approved last week.


For the 18th consecutive year, village property owners will see no change in their property tax rate.


The total cost of village expenses, including utilities, is $2,482,094.


A gap of $242,395 with projected revenues will be covered by savings.


The meeting opened with the annual Reorganizational Meeting, with Trustees Larry Stern and Amanda Briggs, along with Mayor Gene Ostrander, sworn in for new two-year terms.


Other appointments include Trustee Brian Bogan as deputy mayor, the

Waterville Times as the official newspaper and NBT as the official village bank.


Ostrander thanked Village Clerk/Treasurer Gayle Barnes and DPW Superintendent Jamie Bechy for putting together a good budget.
