Voters Approve Budget For BCS

Brookfield Central School District will operate under the approved 2024-25 budget that maintains programs.

After a two-vote failure in May, last week voters said yes with a 14-vote margin, 128- 114.

The $8,297,772 budget is up about $326,000 from this year’s, mainly due to bus purchases. The tax levy will go up 2 percent.

Avoided with the approval was a contingency budget, which would have forced the District to fund only essential programs next year.

The full story is in this week's edition of the newspaper.
