Waterville Central School District Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Spring sent a notice last week about the school district’s leadership team.
Spring said Lindsay Owens, who has served as K-12 assistant principal since 2022, has accepted a new position as the elementary principal in the Frankfort Schuyler School District.
Owens, a graduate of WCS, left last week.
Spring said WCS is incredibly grateful for Owens’ outstanding dedication and many contributions to the school district and wished her much success.
Spring said with Owens’ departure, the district has two key building leadership positions to fill.
*Junior-Senior High Principal. The District will reopen the search for a permanent principal.
*K-12 Assistant Principal. Once the principal position is filled, the District will begin the search for a new assistant principal.
Dr. Steve Grimm, who has been serving as the interim Junior-Senior High principal this school year, has agreed to continue in an administrative role through June 30, 2025.
Spring also announced Alison Voelker, a Junior- Senior High special educator, will take on the role temporarily as the Junior- Senior High Dean of Students starting Dec. 2.
Voelker joined WCS last fall after relocating from Connecticut, where she also worked as a special education teacher. She is pursuing her administrative certification.
Voelker will work with Grimm in the secondary building.
Waterville is also beginning the search for a new superintendent.
Spring will retire in June after four and a half years leading the District.
