Winfield Considers Bank

The Town of Winfield Board met recently to discuss new business.


Bob Brenchley and Kristen Bourgeois with Adirondack Bank met with the Board to discuss products and services the Board can consider before making a decision which bank to do business with. Brenchley and Bourgeois spoke about the services offered like online banking before going into detail about their fraud prevention methods.


The Board asked questions about direct deposit and the convenience of Adirondack Bank locations from the Town.


The Board approved a resolution to pay the General and Highway fund claims.


The Board approved a resolution accepting the Supervisor's and Clerk's reports for May.


The Board approved a resolution accepting the May 17 meeting minutes.


Highway Department Superintendent Paul Jones said a boiler was inspected and given a violation for not having the insurance card recently validated. Solutions for the buildup of green waste in the Town Park are being considered.

Parks Commissioner Bob Royce said most of the weekend times for the Park are already reserved this year. Overgrowth along the streambank needs to be removed.


The Town received a check from Herkimer County for the construction of a Handicap Bathroom. The new Pavilion is open. Royce wondered about locking up the Pavillion during off hours to prevent vandalism.


The Board held a discussion about the Bridge replacement project. Bids for the project were compared and the Board discussed financial actions for…
